In the backdrop of heightened tension with China over its troops' incursion in Ladakh, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid left for a two-day official visit to China on Thursday morning. The External Affairs Minister is visiting China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi. During the visit, the two sides will discuss bilateral, regional and global issues of concern to both countries. The two sides will also discuss the modalities of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's scheduled visit to India. Ahead of leaving for China, Khurshid said, "India and China had developed a very sound relationship over the past decade. I hope that bilateral ties would be enhanced under China's new leadership."
