Yoga guru Ramdev's Patanjali Herbal Food Park in the Padartha area of Haridwar was the scene of a bloody battle on Wednesday morning as a violent fight broke out between the food park staff and a group of transporters. One person was killed and at least half a dozen others injured in the clash, which erupted over the issue of local transporters allegedly not being preferred for transporting the herbal food park's products. Reports are that Ramdev's younger brother, Ram Bharat, who is involved in the administration of the food park, came to speak with the protesters but they refused to budge. Soon, heated words were exchanged and a clash reportedly broke out between food park staff and the transporters in which firearms were used. Daljeet Singh, 42, a transporter from Aithal village in Laksar tehsil of Haridwar, died in the clash allegedly after he received severe injuries in the head. Another local, 60-year-old Abdul Waheed, was also grievously injured and has been admitted to a government hospital. Five more people are also believed to have sustained injuries in the clash.
