The CPI (Maoist) has allegedly declared slain Naxalite Kishenji's close aide Suchitra Mahto a 'traitor'. After receiving specific inputs about threat to Suchitra Mahto, West Bengal Police has escalated her security to a higher level. Suchitra Mahto was considered close to Koteshwar Rao alias Kishenji and she was allegedly the one who persuaded Kishenji to move to West Midnapore's Binpur, Suchitra is believed to have convinced Kishenji about combating the growing presence of Trinamul Congress in the area and to strengthen the Maoist base. The alleged internal probe of Maoist reveals that Suchitra's actions compromised security of the top Maoist leading to his encounter.
