The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued a notice to BJP veterans LK Advani, MM Joshi and 18 others who are the accused in the 1992 demolition of Babri Masjid in Uttar Pradesh's holy city of Ayodhya.

Acting on a petition filed by lawyer Haji Mehmood, the apex court gave them four weeks to respond to its notice. The plea questions the delay in appeal for filing the Special Leave Petition and the merits of the appeal.
