US tones down its aggressive stance against Sri Lanka's alleged war crimes of 2009. NewsX has a copy of the resolution presented by the U.S against Sri Lanka at the United Nations Human Rights Council on Monday evening Geneva time which is early morning Indian time. The US as sponsor of the resolution has made sea changes to it and has deleted the clause for an international inquiry into alleged war crimes in the last phase of the civil war. The resolution also praises the Sri Lankan Govt for announcing that elections would be held in the war affected north later this year.
