Aftermath of murder of the village pradhan in Kunda village in Pratapgarh district has worsened. In an exchange of fire between villagers and police following the murder, the deputy superintendent of police Zia Ul Haq who had suffered gunshots has succumbed to the injuries late on Saturday night. The circle officer of Kunda, the Deputy Superintendent of Police and inspector in-charge of the local police station suffered gunshot injuries. While Zia Ul Haq succumbed to injuries, the gunner's condition is stated to be critical. To add to the gruesome incident, body of the slain pradhan's younger brother was later recovered from the village outskirts.
