The long-standing fissure in the Sangh Parivar over Narendra Modi seems to deepen by the day. While some in the RSS continue to openly oppose Modi, there are many within the Sangh Pariwar who feel Modi has not done enough for the parivar as Gujarat chief minister. Rajnath Singh's elevation was meant as an assertion of the RSS' authority. It's hardly worked, with Modi's projection as PM candidate remaining a bone of contention. Senior RSS leaders have asked Rajnath Singh to visit religious leaders at Kumbh fair to know their mind. Singh is slated to visit Allahabad and meet these leaders on Wednesday.
