The BJP is holding countrywide protests from Jan 24 against Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde's "Hindu terror" remarks. Home Secretary R.K. Singh too has backed Shinde's comments. The newly elected party president Rajnath Singh had warned of this backlash to the Home Minister's remarks after being elected party president. Rajnath Singh said protests and rallies would be held and effigies representing the UPA government would be burnt by party workers to register their protest.
