The world's largest religious gathering starts today with the Makar Sakranti. The Kumbh is held every four years but a Maha Kumbh Festival like this one at Allahabad takes place once in 12 years. Needless to add that it attracts not only Hindus but also tourists and academicians from all over the world. Lakhs will take a dip in the holy Ganga as they believe it will wash away their sins.
