There's been an ugly flip side to the anti-rape protests in the capital. Delhi Police Constable Subhash Tomar who was grievously injured by trouble-makers during the protests on Sunday, died this morning.
Constable Tomar has been cremated with full state honours. Police commissioner Neeraj Kumar, chief minister Sheila Dikshit and minister of state RPN Singh and other police personnel were present at the funeral. He died of respiratory and cardiovascular damage caused by the injuries. 8 people have been charged with his murder. Constable Tomar is survived by his wife and 3 children. Delhi Police commissioner announced an ex-gratia of 10 lakh rupees for the deceased cop's kin.
