Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, who quit the BJP at the end of November, has formally joined the newly minted Karnataka Janata Party or the KJP in Haveri, in North Karnataka. Today's event is billed as a show of strength for the Lingayat strongman who helped consolidate power for the BJP in the southern state. The BJP leadership, both in New Delhi and Karnataka projects not to be bothered about Yeddyurappa's political plans outside the BJP. But the party leaders are certain to be keeping a close eye on Haveri.
