As the row over the Haryana government's creation of a separate Gurudwara administration continues, the police in Kurukshetra on Wednesday resorted to lathicharge to control a group of people who had gathered outside a gurudwara to take control of it from the Amritsar based SGPC.

The Haryana Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee held a meeting on Wednesday to decide the next course of action since the SGPC has refused to hand over control of gurudwaras in Haryana. Police units have been deployed to prevent any violent incidents.
