On a day when Narendra Modi's month long yatra is coming to an end, there is good news for the Gujarat Chief Minister which may just embolden his campaign. The diplomatic isolation that both Narendra Modi and Gujarat was facing in the wake of the Gujarat riots seems to be coming to an end with the United Kingdom looking to re-establish contact with the state. In an official posting on its website the UK foreign office has asked its High Commissioner to visit Gujarat and meet the chief minister and other senior functionaries to discuss a wide range of issues of mutual interest and explore opportunities for closer cooperation.
