A video clipping purportedly showing an IPS officer mercilessly thrashing a thief in the Varaccha area of the city surfaced today. The incident happened last evening, and was recorded by a passer-by on his mobile phone. The video showed Deputy Commissioner of Police N D Solanki beating up a man caught by the police after he snatched a woman's purse.
