A 43-year-old heart specialist working at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital was shot dead and another person received a cut injury in New Rajinder Nagar in Central Delhi early this morning. Police Sources say that an unidentified assailant reportedly climbed up through the balcony to Dr. Sanjiv Dhawan's first floor residence. He started banging the door calling out the name of Sangeetha employed as a domestic maid there. But when Dr Dhawan opened the door, he was shot at four to five times killing him on the spot. Residents say the attacker had earlier climbed to second floor by mistake and attacked one Tarun with an axe before realising it wasn't Dr Dhawan's house.
