Defence Minister AK Antony has admitted a 3-day delay in deploying troops in Assam to control the communal riots in the state. Antony told Parliament that the Centre gave the go-ahead for the troop deployment in Kokrajhar only July 24th. This was 3 days after the Assam government sent an SOS for troops to control the riots on July 21st.
