Anandi Patel, Gujarat's Revenue Minister and a close aide of Narendra Modi, is likely to be chosen his successor when the BJP legislature party meets here today to elect a new leader. "Most probably, Anandiben Patel will be the next chief minister of Gujarat," a source in BJP said.Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi will step down as the Gujarat chief minister after heading the state for over 12 years. He will also be resigning as member of the Gujarat legislative Assembly. Modi was appointed the Prime Minister yesterday, after he met President Pranab Mukherjee to officially stake claim to form the next government at the Centre. He also handed over a formal letter asking him to name the ministers who would be part of his cabinet.
