In tackling the menace of Naxalites, now women of Jharkhand will be giving a tough competition to their male counterparts. In the Naxal affected areas, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is conducting a special training programme to prepare girls to face Naxalites. The special campaign to generate awareness is funded by the Union Government. In the training camp, the girls are coached in using guns, given lessons in karate and taught about combating tough situations.
To date, 70 girls have completed the training course, out of which 54 are from the Naxal affected areas of Latehar district. In the first batch, a team of Paramilitary Force trained 30 girls and in the second batch 40 women completed their training to face the Naxal menace. An important motive behind training these girls was that they will not be included by the Naxals in their organization.
