A day after a landslide struck an area at Durbuk, about 200 km from here, the Indian Army launched a massive search and rescue operation on Sunday. The Army has shifted around 400 tourists to military base in Tangste. Meanwhile, scores of tourists in around 200 vehicles are left stranded in Ladakh. The landslide is reported to have struck between 3 and 4 pm yesterday. Efforts are underway to clear the affected road to make way for the vehicles.
