Union minister for power Sushilkumar Shinde absolved himself of any wrongdoing in connection with the controversial Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society and hinted that the crucial decisions were taken during the tenure of former chief ministers Vilasrao Deshmukh and Ashok Chavan without naming them. During his cross-examination before the Adarsh commission on Monday, Shinde indicated that the land on which the building stands did not belong to the urban development ministry and therefore, he had no role in either allotting the land or formalising the list of members.
