The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided not to give former cricketers Kapil Dev, Azharuddin and Kirti Azad the benefit of a one-time payment scheme. The decision on Azad was taken after his protest fast outside the Ferozeshah Kotla ground over what he called financial irregularities in the Indian Premier League. Azad, who was supposed to get around Rs.50 lakh through the scheme, has expressed unhappiness over the way the BCCI and the IPL are functioning in violation of the laws of the land.
