A Delhi court will pronounce its verdict in the cash on camera case involving former BJP president Bangaru Laxman. Laxman was caught on camera allegedly accepting bribe from fictitious arms dealers in a sting operation conducted by Tehelka.The case caused a nationwide sensation, involving as it did a person no less than the national president of the party that was heading the Government in 2001.In the CDs that Tehelka released in 2001... Laxman is allegedly accepting money for awarding a contract to a fictitious Britian-based company M/s West End International, for the supply of hand-held thermal imagers to the Indian Army. In its chargesheet the CBI alleged that Laxman accepted 1 lakh in 2001 at his office for pursuing the proposal.. The CBI also told court that he fudged the BJP accounts to accommodate the money, a charge that was refuted by Laxman .
