The Central government has filed a Presidential reference in Supreme Court seeking its opinion on various issues arising from the 2G verdict. The 12-page reference signed by President Pratibha Patil raises 8 crucial questions. On Tuesday, the Cabinet had approved the presidential reference. The government is seeking clarity on the apex court's 2G judgement through the reference. The Supreme Court had earlier refused to review its judgement which cancelled 2G licences and rejected government's policy of first-come-first-serve basis.
