Anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare is to hold a one-day fast at Jantar Mantar today weeks after recuperating from illness. All eyes will be on whether he can receives the kind of response he did in the capital in August last year when people from across the social and economic spectrum rallied behind him leading to the initiation of a national debate to bring a Lokpal Act. In contrast, Anna's fast in Mumbai late last year had been something of a damp squib with a low turnout of followers and his own health failing. With today's fast, Team Anna hopes to revive the public push for a strong Lokpal and an anti-corruption body to protect whistleblowers.
