Young gun Virat Kohli smashed 133 runs off just 83 balls with 16 hits to the boundary, including two sixes to help India grab the bonus point and trounce Sri Lanka in a do-or-die battle. Kohli was ably assisted by Gautam Gambhir who hit 63 in just 64 balls with four boundaries. Suresh Raina too played a helping hand, remaining unbeaten with Kohli with 40 off 24 balls which included four boundaries. India scored the required 321 runs in just 36.4 overs losing just 3 wickets.
