Mamata Banerjee has written a letter to Prime Minister opposing special powers to the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) and charged the UPA government with encroaching on the federal powers of the stats. This after Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had slammed the Congress led UPA government and asked the home ministry to review the order empowering the NCTC. Patnaik was opposing the "draconian" special powers granted to the NCTC to arrest and search without consulting the state government. He also had urged Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalitha, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and Telugu Desam chief and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to oppose the Centre's move.For more info log onto: http://alpha.newsx.com
