Pakistan Terror Attack: An imminent resumption of talks between India and Pakistan came under a shadow as the government came under heavy fire from both opposition and its own allies in Parliament over the cross border ambush by Pakistan that killed five Indian soldiers and injured another early Tuesday morning.

Defence minister AK Antony said in Parliament that the attack was carried out by 20 heavily armed terrorists and "persons dressed in Pakistan army uniforms". His remark was widely criticised by parliamentarians across party lines who saw the statement as giving Pakistan an alibility to escape responsibility. Army officials in Islamabad denied knowledge of the attack.
