Former Haryana DGP S P S Rathore convicted in the Ruchika Gilhotra Molestation case is being given back his pension. The Central Administrative Tribunal in Chandigarh ordered restoration of the pension, which was stopped following his conviction, on the basis that the pension of a person is not a bounty but a legal entitlement. Rathore was awarded six months' rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs.1000 by the Chandigarh CBI court in December 2009 for molesting the 14-yr-old tennis player Ruchika on August 12, 1990. The girl committed suicide three years later.
