India News: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday continued talks with other political parties to form a Third Front, pointing to an imminent split in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Kumar, leader of the Janata Dal (United), or JD-U, that's part of the NDA, said he was in discussions with West Bengal and Orissa chief ministers—Mamata Banerjee and Naveen Patnaik, respectively—on forming a political alternative to both the NDA and the ruling Congress party's United Progressive Alliance (UPA) ahead of the 2014 national election.
