Known as the global ambassador of Indian music who took the ragas from the banks of Ganga to the concert halls across the globe Pandit Ravi Shankar is no more.

The sitar maestro whose health was fragile for the past several years, underwent a heart-valve replacement surgery on Thursday in California. The sitarist breathed his last at the age of 92. Though the surgery was successful, recovery became difficult for the musician due to his age.
