서해 5도 어장 확장... 야간조업 55년만 부활
A fishing area near the inter-Korean border is being expanded... thanks to abating tensions between Seoul and Pyeongyang.
The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries plan to expand the current one-thousand-6-hundred-14 square kilometers of a fishing ground in the West Sea near Yeonpyeong-do Island to nearly one-thousand-900 square kilometers.
This zone is known for its abundance in shrimp and blue crabs... responsible for around four-thousand tons or more than 26-point-7-milllion U.S. dollars worth of yields each year.
With the measure, the ministry expects yields to increase by more than 10-percent annually.
