The number of people in Korea who have been unemployed long-term, meaning for six months or more, rose in January to its highest level in 19 years.
Data from Statistics Korea shows the number of long-term unemployed shot up last month by eight-thousand from the same period last year to 155-thousand.
The number of people who've been unemployed for three months or less also rose sharply, by 173-thousand on year... to 776-thousand.
That was the fastest pace in nearly nine-years.
