Umno vice-president Ismail Sabri said that though Cameron Highlands and Semenyih have different voter demographics, the "spirit of Cameron Highlands" will carry over to the Semenyih by-election.

He said Umno's victory in Cameron Highlands has given new spirit to the party members and machinery, as well as giving a higher confidence to their machinery due to the big win.
