President Trump on Monday attended a rally in Texas.
President Trump has finally revealed his reason for not having a dog in the White House. He said during his Monday night rally in El Paso, Texas: "You do love your dogs, don't you? I wouldn't mind having one, honestly, but I don't have any time."
"How would I look walking a dog on the White House lawn?" he further noted. Trump continued: "I don't know….I don't feel good. It feels a little phony to me. A lot of people say, 'Oh, you should get a dog. It's good. Politically.' I said, 'That's not the relationship I have with my people.'" He made that comment after noting how good German shepherds are at sniffing out illicit substances being transported across the border. Notably, Trump is the first president in many decades to not have a dog in the White House.
