Storm Erik battered the coastline of Ayrshire in Scotland at high tide on Friday, with high winds producing a storm surge.

Ayrshire has been put on weather alert with winds of up to 70mph, local media reported.

A yellow weather warning is reportedly in place from the UK Met Office for South and East Ayrshire until 3pm on Saturday.
