1 The festival of Labh Panchami marks the end of the Diwali celebrations which is why it is greatly associated with this festival.
2 It is popularly known by different names like Saubhagya Panchami or Gyaan Panchami or Laakheni Panchami.
3 According to the traditional Gujarati calendar, it is observed on the fifth day during the Kartik Shukla Paksha.
4 This day is celebrated with great fervor in Gujarat where this day is celebrated as the first operational day of the Gujarati New Year.
5 It is considered as an auspicious day to initiate any new ventures and prayers are offered to Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi for well-being and prosperity.
6 Donating food, clothes, money or other essentials to the needy is regarded to be fruitful on Labh Panchami.
7 Jain followers conduct a traditional worship of their books on this day for wisdom and guidance.
8 On the left side of these books, they write Shubh and on the other side Labh is written with vermilion; after which they draw a Sathiya (Swastik) in the middle of the page.
