South Korea's exports of food products, both fresh and processed, hit a record high in 2018... thanks mainly to an increase in shipments of fruit to Southeast Asia.
According to the agriculture ministry, food exports came to around 9-point-3 billion U.S. dollars last year,... up 1-point-7 percent from the year before.
Popular items included fresh food, like fruit, and processed goods like ramen.
The ministry attributed the increase to more exports of pears to Vietnam.
Total food shipments to Vietnam rose by more than 20 percent compared to the previous year.
