The ruling NDA government’s interim budget announced on Feb, 01 ticks all the boxes as a populist budget, Sunil Kant Munjal, Chairman, Hero Enterprise told Mint in an interview as it helps the distressed and informal sectors with the much-needed social security. Munjal also praised the government’s attempt towards maintaining fiscal discipline. For FY 20 the government has pegged fiscal deficit at 3.4%, that Munjal views as a positive.
