UNICEF says US$ 19.5 mil. needed to help 2.59 mil. N. Korean children

UNICEF says more than 19-million U.S. dollars is needed to help North Korean children this year.
In a report titled Humanitarian Action for Children, the UN children's agency said that of 2-point-59-million children in North Korea, 70-thousand of them need treatment for malnutrition and 240-thousand need vaccinations.
Statistics show that one out of five children under 5 years old have developmental disabilities due to malnutrition.
UNICEF has spent 30 million dollars annually for the past 10 years to help North Korean children recover from malnutrition, and get clean water and basic medical care.
