President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary at Rajghat in New Delhi. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Chiefs of Armed Forces also paid homage to the Father of the Nation. Mahatma Gandhi, who led several campaigns against the British rulers, was assassinated on January 30, 1948. This day is celebrated as ‘Martyr’s Day’ countrywide.
