President Trump on Tuesday blasted Cliff Sims, a former White House aide and author of the newly released tell-all book, 'Team of Vipers: My 500 Extraordinary Days in the Trump White House.' "A low level staffer that I hardly knew named Cliff Sims wrote yet another boring book based on made up stories and fiction," Trump tweeted. "He pretended to be an insider when in fact he was nothing more than a gofer. He signed a non-disclosure agreement. He is a mess!" According to Politico, sources familiar with the matter say the president has been "very pi**ed off" about the book since learning of its release and was advised to not "lash out" at Sims. Among book excerpts shared by The Atlantic is an exchange Trump is said to have had with then-House Speaker Paul Ryan. The publication notes that according to Sims, the conversation began with Trump saying: "Paul, do you know why Democrats have been kicking your a— for decades? Because they know a little word called 'loyalty.' Why do you think Nancy [Pelosi] has held on this long? Have you seen her? She's a disaster. Every time she opens her mouth another Republican gets elected. But they stick with her…Why can't you be loyal to your president, Paul?" Sims also reportedly discusses White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway, calling her a "cartoon villain brought to life," and recounts the time senior adviser Stephen Miller told Trump, "Your polling numbers are actually very strong considering Steve [Bannon] won't stop leaking to the press and trying to undermine Jared. If Steve wasn't doing that, I bet you'd be ten points higher."
