Thousands of fishes were found dead in the Darling river in Australia’s town of Menindee, New South Wales. The fishes were found floating on water. Niall Blair, New South Wales Regional Water Minister says that the cause of death has not been ascertained till now and the scientists are finding reasons behind the death. The sudden change in temperature is considered as one of the cause of death. Hot weather, leading to an algal bloom, decreased the oxygen content from the water and is suspected as another reason. Water mismanagement is also considered as a reason by some residents. This is the 3rd mass kill of fishes in Australia in recent weeks.
