President Trump on Sunday again went after the media.
President Trump proclaimed "Fake News is the Enemy of the People" after a British newspaper released an apology for an article it had run about first lady Melania Trump.
In a tweet on Sunday, Trump thanked Fox News' Brit Hume who called out the apology, saying: "One wonders how so many falsehoods could be crammed into a single article. Proof, if any were needed, that bias makes journalists reckless."
"Thank you to Brit," Trump wrote in response. "This is a very big deal in Europe. Fake News is the Enemy of the People!"
The Telegraph has admitted that its January 19 profile on Melania Trump "contained a number of false statements [and]...should not have been published."
These reportedly included mischaracterizations about the first lady's family and her modeling career, among others.
In addition to issuing the apology, The Telegraph is said to be paying Melania Trump "substantial damages."
