President Trump delivered remarks Thursday during a meeting on trade.

President Trump said on Thursday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was "actually reasonable" about delaying the State of the Union address in the House chamber until the partial government shutdown has ended.  He told reporters that it is "really her choice…I would have done it at a different location, but I think that would be very disrespectful to the State of the Union to pick some other place. I could have done it. I could've gone to a big auditorium and gotten 25,000 people in one day."  "But I think that would be very disrespectful to the State of the Union," Trump continued. "So what she said I thought was actually reasonable. We'll have the State of the Union when the shutdown is over."
Pelosi requested the rescheduling of the January 29 address last week, citing security concerns linked to the shutdown.  Trump originally criticized that suggestion.
"The State of the Union speech has been canceled by Nancy Pelosi because she doesn't want to hear the truth," he told reporters on Wednesday. "She doesn't want the American public to hear what's going on."   He also called her decision "a great blotch on the incredible country that we all love. It's a great, great, horrible mark."
