President Uhuru Kenyatta Friday received instruments of the Jubilee Party which will bring together parties belonging to the ruling coalition and their allies.
The interim committee tasked with laying down the foundations for the new party presented to him, the party’s interim constitution, its nomination rules, its election rules and a members’ handbook.
The meeting at State House between President Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and the interim committee will be followed by the release of a roadmap to fold up the constituent parties to culminate in the launch of Jubilee Party in September.
After receiving the party instruments, President Kenyatta said the new party will uphold democracy and the wishes of Kenyans.
