On Wednesday morning, the Montgomery County Department of Police investigated reports of an armed bank robbery at the BB&T Bank on Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland. Police said the suspect tried to rob the bank but left when the panic button was pressed. He then encountered a police officer in an alley and was shot. He was transported to a nearby hospital but later died of his injuries. The suspect's identity was not released. An investigation by the police department is still underway.
