Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's new book, 'Let Me Finish,' is due out soon and in it, he reportedly accuses Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law, of orchestrating a political "hit job." "Christie blames this key player in the president's inner circle for his ignominious dismissal [from Trump's White House transition team] shortly after Trump's election victory in November 2016. Christie...writes that Kushner's role in his sacking was confirmed to him by Steve Bannon, Trump's campaign chief, in real time," according to The Guardian. Christie is said to assert that Jared Kushner did so as retaliation for the prosecution of his father, a real estate developer, roughly a decade prior. At that time, Christie was a US attorney and Jared Kushner's father, Charles Kushner, was accused of tax evasion and witness tampering, notes the Daily Beast. Charles Kushner ultimately spent more than a year in prison.
