Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon has urged the sports ministry to take action following the recent allegations of sexual violence against female athletes.
Lee, chairing his second cabinet meeting of the year on Tuesday, sent his condolences to the victims and their families affected by the sexual violence.
The prime minister also mentioned the need to look into establishing an independent organization responsible for tackling sexual violence in sports.
Lee called on victims to come forward and said the prosecution and police should deliver the harshest punishment possible.
