President Trump's favorite poll shows that his approval rating has plummeted amid the partial government shutdown.

A recent poll released by Rasmussen Reports showed that President Trump's approval rating has plummeted amid the partial government shutdown.  The Rasmussen Reports' daily Presidential Tracking Poll on Monday posted a 43% approval rating for the president, his lowest since January 2018.  It notes: "The president's overall job approval rating has been falling since his Oval Office address last week calling for enhanced border security and the building of a wall to help stop illegal immigration."  Rasmussen posts results of daily polls, with each involving about 500 participants and being reported on a three-day rolling basis.
The conservative-leaning poll's approval numbers for Trump are generally higher than those from other prominent polling organizations, notes The Hill. The president has taken note of this.  In April, he tweeted, "Rasmussen just came out at 51% Approval despite the Fake News Media. They were one of the three most accurate on Election Day. Just about the most inaccurate were CNN and ABC News/Washington Post, and they haven't changed (get new pollsters). Much of the media is a Scam!" For comparison, around that time, a poll from NBC and The Wall Street Journal reported Trump's approval rating at 39%.
