ವಿಶ್ವದ ಎರಡನೇ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಮೂಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ರೈಲ್ವೇ ಒಂದಾಗಿದೆ. ಬೃಹತ್ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯು ಸುಮಾರು 13 ಲಕ್ಷ ಮೀಸಲಾದ ನೌಕರರನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಗಾರ್ಡ್, ಚಾಲಕರು, ಸ್ಟೇಷನ್ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ಸ್, ಬುಕಿಂಗ್ ಕ್ಲರ್ಕ್, ಬುಕಿಂಗ್ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಿಗಳ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಣತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲು ಭಾರತೀಯ ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಝೋನಲ್ ಟ್ರೈನಿಂಗ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ಗಳನ್ನು (ಜಿಆರ್ಟಿಐ) ದೇಶದಾದ್ಯಂತ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತದೆ.

Indian Railways is one of the primary commuting sources of second largest population in the world. The massive organization has over 13 lakh dedicated employees in its fleet. To enhance the technical skills and expertise of its employees including guards, drivers, station masters, booking clerk, booking staff, etc the Indian Railways runs several Zonal Training Institutes (ZRTIs) across the country.
